The aim of this group is to share in our love of poetry and drama as well as learn a little more about selected literature. Typically, half of each meeting is devoted to poetry, the other to a play. We usually agree on a theme to guide our selection of poems for the following week and recent themes have included childhood, festivals, food and clothes. We have access to a large library resource for our plays which we also select together and we have covered very modern works but also more classical drama including Shakespeare. We invariably have very interesting and convivial discussions at our meetings where everyone's contribution is valued.
