Venue: Cyprus Hall, Cyprus Road, BH. Doors open 9.45am. Talk time 10.30am to 11.30am. Tea/coffee and biscuits will be available. The subject is:

“Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity” with Sophie Barriball.

The team assess every child individually, creating a bespoke programme of therapy to support their individual needs.

WANTED- Volunteers and Items - Summer Tea Party, 1 August

Our Chairman, Steve, recently circulated an email to everyone asking for assistance with arrangements for our big summer event. Offers of help would be much appreciated so that we can make it as successful as last year! Dig out that email from Steve and see how you could help.

Garden Group One – Our second Garden Visit

This beautiful and tranquil garden was described by Sussex Life as ‘a garden where plants star’. Created by the owners over the past 20 years, it is planted for interest throughout the year. A choice of plants and home-made jams for sale. For further information click the link below.

If you would like to join us, in the first instance, please contact Angela Mitchell by email angelamitchell14@gmail.com. Please include your telephone number. Payment to Burgess Hill u3a, acc:30-99-50; acc: 86486260; marked ‘Denman’s.

Pickleball Group

The group is now active and meets on Monday afternoons at the Triangle Leisure Centre. Our members play doubles, so four players are on court at a time, using a mooth-faced paddle to hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball over a 34” high net. The space we have provides three courts , which means we can accommodate a number of players, so if you’re interested in joining the group please contact David Grigg (davidgriggu3a@gmail.com).

Paddles and balls are provided but you are welcome to use your own equipment if you prefer.

Mandala Art

Following previously mentioned items, we are now hopeful of forming a group potentially looking at a wider range of pattern art subjects, including Zentangle, Neurographic Art, just doodling or just creating patterns.

All are relaxing forms of art and require only pencils, pens, markers etc and possibly a geometric compass but none requires special equipment to get started.

If this appeals to you as a possible topic, please contact David Grigg (davidgriggu3a@gmail.com) in the first instance.

Do you enjoy singing for fun?

If so, would you be interested in joining with others to form a ‘fun choir’? No auditions, just a group of like-minded people singing for the pure fun of it. If this sounds of interest to you, please contact David Grigg (davidgriggu3a@gmail.com).
